Whilst we offer industry-leading, affordable dental implant treatments at 7oaks Dental Clinic, one of our key concerns is dental health and the leading causes of tooth loss and tooth decay. In this article, we share some of the leading causes of tooth loss and decay, and what you can do to protect your dental health.
An increasingly popular option with dental implant patients, All-On-4® dental implant procedures are a technique where the upper or lower set of teeth are replaced with just four implants. Multiple missing teeth can often be replaced using a bridge on implants, as not every tooth being replaced requires its own implant. These four Implants act as a support mechanism for the placement of a new set of fixed teeth, enabling a patient to avoid wearing a temporary denture or walk around with missing teeth.
For patients who are missing the top row of teeth or bottom and top rows of teeth, All-on-four dental implants have some advantages over traditional dentures and traditional implants.
Traditional dental implants require several surgical procedures, taking place over a number of months including periods for healing between them. During a traditional dental implant procedure, implants are placed within the jawbone - which can then take between three to six months for the gums to heal. Once the implants are integrated with the jawbone, it acts as a replacement for the missing tooth. However, further surgery is necessary to attach the dental crown to the first stage of the implant, necessitating further healing time.
Teeth in a day allows patients to dramatically shorten the typical dental implant treatment of around 4 months into an efficient one-day procedure. It is a desirable option because the one-day treatment still achieves a high-quality result with the durability expected of a standard dental implant treatment.
